K-2nd Grade
Building Curiosity and Confidence
The Primary Grades are where the Corpus Christi journey begins—filled with excitement, curiosity, and joy. Our youngest learners thrive in a nurturing, faith-centered environment that builds confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Religion
Using the Spirit of Truth program, students learn about Jesus’ love and teachings through scripture, stories, and prayer. They come to understand how special they are as children of God and how they can live out their faith each day.
In Second Grade, students prepare for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, marking an important step in their spiritual growth.
Language Arts
Our Language Arts program builds a strong foundation in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
In Kindergarten, students use Starfall to develop early literacy skills through phonics, stories, and engaging activities that make learning to read joyful and meaningful.
In Grades 1–2, students use Into Reading by HMH, a comprehensive program that deepens comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills while fostering a love of reading and language.
Writing Program
Corpus Christi uses Simplify Writing across all grade levels. This structured program teaches grammar, vocabulary, and spelling through authentic writing experiences. Each year builds upon the last, ensuring that by the time students leave Corpus Christi, they can confidently write in a variety of styles and craft well-developed essays in high school and beyond.
Mathematics
Using MyMath, students build essential number skills, exploring patterns, operations, and problem-solving in fun, hands-on ways.
Science
Through STEMscopes, students explore God’s creation by studying plants, animals, weather, and matter through experiments and observation.
Social Studies
With McGraw Hill resources, students learn about family, friendship, and community, discovering what it means to be responsible, caring members of the world around them.
