All books on the planet are being destroyed. Hiding one is far too dangerous - the only way to protect a book you care about is by memorizing it. 

 

Think about the books we've read this year and the books you've read during your time at Corpus Christi. Which book is important enough to save? In a well-planned and thought out essay, select three quotes from your chosen text to demonstrate why the book you chose is worth saving. You may use personal pronouns in this essay, but your quotes must be cited correctly. You must have  properly formatted MLA Works Cited page.

In 300 words or more, write a short diary entry describing some of the events of the play from the perspective of that character. Make sure that you include some of the characterization we have discussed in class. You do not need to read ahead - only look at what we have read so far in class!

In at least 200 words, compare and contrast Lenin's speech from 1919 (on Google Classroom) to the speech Old Major delivers to the animals in Chapter 1.

In Flowers for Algernon, we learn about multiple types of intelligence. Take the quiz below to gain some insight to the way you think and what kind of intelligence you might display!

 

 

After you take the quiz and receive your results, write a short paragraph about whether or not you agree. Do you think you are more of one type than another? How do you express your intelligence? What kind of ways can we use in class to let you show off your skill set?

Using the template and instructions posted on Google Classroom, complete our first TDQ for Daniel Keye's Flowers for Algernon. Remember, your TDQ must be submitted in paragraph format over Google Classroom. You will need to submit an original Google Doc - not the completed outline template.

 

Write a brief (2 - 3 paragraph) summary of Flowers for Algernon from the beginning of the story up to the end of the March 28th journal entry. Make sure to mention important characters, settings, and elements of the plot we have discussed in class.
