On March 13, the Corpus Christi Academic Decathlon team competed against 114 other Archdiocese of Los Angeles schools in the Junior High Academic Decathlon. Three students won medals in their subject specialties. Sixth grader Jack Coleman won 1st place in the Social Studies competition, seventh grader Max LaVia won 5th place in the Science competition, and sixth grader Andrew Yang won 10th place in the Math competition. The Corpus Decathlon team has competed for the last six years and has won individual medals every year. Team members are Sydney Brumbach, Arman Chinai, Jack Coleman, Katherine Csiszar, Oliver Garrett, Kerry Keefe, Max LaVia, Andrew Yang, and Audrey Yang. The team captain is eighth grader Sophie Larbalestier. The team was coached by Kathy Slattery, Madette Soliman, Molly Coleman, Elisa Garrett, Geoff Larbalestier, Charlotta LaVia, grandparent Enrique May, and Pansy and Ken Yang.
