ABOUT
Every person directly involved in Corpus Christi
School is a part of this community, this family.
However, our school family does not exist in isolation
from the broader parish family. Indeed it is in
strict accord with the dictates of the National
Catechetical Directory which states:
“As a community and an institution, the school has an independent life of its own. But a parochial school is also a community within a wider community, contributing to the parish upon which it depends and is integrated into its life. Integration and interdependence are major matters of parish concern. Each program in a total catechetical effort should complement the other.”
All involved in Corpus Christi School take pride in its strong Catholic identity, an identity reflected in a complex mix of mission culture, people, environment, relationships and curricula. Maintaining this identity is not an end to be achieved, but rather a way of life to be lived. Our Catholic identity at Corpus Christi School is not something we “do” to our students, but it is the way we as a community, enlivened by our faith in Jesus, do everything.
With these beliefs firmly in mind, our dream for our students is to see them
- eager to live and share their faith in Christ;
- equipped to be productive citizens in a global society with knowledge and skills which allow for action;
- prepared to make choices in life born of justice and moral “rightness”
exercise the facility for identifying false values;
- willing to share of their abundance of material foods with those in need;
- unwilling to compromise their God-given freedom through abuse of drugs and alcohol.
Yes, our mission at Corpus Christi School is both privilege and challenge and we welcome you to share in both.
